Many thanks to Challies for linking to this article. I must admit that it is a hard read for me. Having been exposed to such things as a young child (so I personally know more of this evil than I wish I knew), and knowing too many marriages that have been utterly decimated by sexual sin, I simply cannot read this with any level of emotional detachment. But it is surely one of the main issues facing young men and women today; and I absolutely agree with the author’s list of recommended resources at the end. So I hope it is a help (and warning and encouragement) to some of you too:

Reposted on fb. Great topic, one that is amiss in most churches today. I like the quote “… both secular and Christian surveys regularly indicate that the vast majority (over 70 percent) of men age 18-24 view it regularly (at least weekly) – and those are just the guys who are willing to admit it….” The perversions of God’s design are glaring, but the consistency with which God calls us to be devoted to him primarily stands as a shocking reminder in a world that is so impulse-driven. Sad reminder of where many people are, Tara, and a great call to prayer and pointed conversation within our sphere of influence.
