Tim Keller & Ed Welch Book Giveaways!

Inspired by my real-life friend, Anne, getting back into blogging with a Tim Keller giveaway, I decided to do two things:

  1. Encourage you to READ HER BLOG. It’s excellent! I have missed it while she was on a break. Her writing comforts me and challenges me and makes me think. As a result of reading her blog, I love more deeply, am more grateful and faith-filled, and I laugh too! Because she is brilliant and funny and kind; plus she has suffered greatly, so she is profoundly real. Please do check out her blog and enter her giveaway.
  2. Do a GIVEAWAY TOO! Mine is a “dead tree version” (to use Anne’s term) of my favorite book from 2012: Ed Welch’s Shame Interrupted: How God Lifts the Pain of Worthlessness and Rejection.

To enter my giveaway for the Ed Welch book, just leave a comment here by 5:00PM (Mtn) next Thursday, January 10th and then check back to make sure I have your contact information if you are the winner.

I’ll give you one entry just for leaving a comment and additional entries for each social media re-share you tell me about, so please also let your friends know via Twitter, FaceBook, etc.

No risk of SPAM! Ever! Our family guards your contact information just as we would hope you would do for ours.

Hope you win! Thanks for participating. I love giving away free, biblical resources!

Your friend,
Tara B.

I have followed your blog for the last several years and enjoy it thoroughly! May God bless you in 2013 with his love and peace!! I would like to win a copy of Ed Welch’s book. I’m sure it would be a great encouragement!!

    Hi Tara,
I give that Tim Keller book away to the young women I meet and work with in AA. Keller’s writing on freedom through self-forgetfulness goes hand in hand with Step 7 of the program, the focus of which is humility, self-forgetfulness, and turning sins (ie, defects of character) over to the power of God. This is the step that helped lead me to Christ way back in the day. I have found this little book very helpful in outreach, having bought and shared about 15 copies so far. It’s excellent.

Wow! This post caught me by surprise — in a good way. 🙂 Thanks for the kind words, and for the giveaway. Ed Welch’s book has been on my to-read list for the past several months. Love you, friend!

I would love to have a second copy of this book since I love it and am always wanting to give it away but need it far too much for my work. I also posted this on my fb account.

I just wanted to say “thank you” and put my hat in the ring.
I so appreciate Ed Welch’s books and do not have this one.
    Blessings,

    Hi Tara,
Hope you’re feeling better and that God is continuing to minister peace to your heart. The Peacemaking Team from my church went to the Conflict Coaching and Mediation training that was held in Aurora in the late fall. So much of the truths learned there dovetail with CCEF, who’s materials have blessed my life immeasurably. We’re doing “When People Are Big and God is Small” in our Adult Disciple-making class (at church) right now. Thanks for this give away offer.

Loved hearing you speak at the PCA women’s conference in South Carolina in the fall. Looking forward to (hopefully winning and) reading this book!

Somehow I missed that you, too, were having a giveaway. I clicked to Anne’s blog and apparently forgot the rest. Maybe I should read more carefully next time! Thanks for doing this!

  • Julie

I’d love to win and read his book. Our daughter has the privilege of having him as a prof at Westminster, and we are so thankful!

  • Lorraine

Thanks for a chance to win … I’ve been reading Running Scared and would love to add this to my library.

  • Meg

I have just started reading Running Scared and look forward to checking out other books by Ed Welch! Thanks for doing the give away!

Count me in! I like books too! Even if I rarely get enough time to read them… 🙂 love you, friend!

Took me forever to figure out that I needed to scroll to the bottom to find where the comments could be added. Love Ed Welch! Just finished When People Are Big & God is Small.

As a “lurker”, I don’t enter your contest as I am currently living abroad (you don’t really want to have to mail a book overseas-I get my books on Kindle when I can). However, just wanted to tell you how blessed and encouraged as well as convicted and challenged I am by reading your blog.
