Tara Klena Barthel formerly served as the Director of the Institute for Christian Conciliation, a division of Peacemaker Ministries. As such, she oversaw the delivery of conciliation services through the Peacemaker Ministries staff as well as its international network of trained conciliators. Tara also provided oversight and leadership for all advanced conciliator training. Currently, she serves her family as a homemaker, and regularly serves as a mediator, arbitrator, and instructor in Christian conciliation. Tara speaks frequently at women's conferences and retreats.
Prior to moving to Billings, Montana to join the staff of Peacemaker Ministries, she worked as an attorney and business consultant in Chicago. Tara earned her law degree and M.B.A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and her B.A. in psychology from Augustana College (Illinois). Baker Book House Co. published her first book in 2005: Peacemaking WomenBiblical Hope for Resolving Conflict, and her first video series was released by Peacemaker Ministries in 2007: The Peacemaking Church Women's StudyLiving the Gospel in Relationships. Tara also serves as an Adjunct Instructor and Certified Christian Conciliator with Peacemaker Ministries and a consultant to businesses and Christian ministries. Tara has served on three short-term missions projects (Estonia, Slovenija, and Outer Mongolia) and she enjoys SCUBA diving with her husband, Frederick. Fred, Tara, and their daughters Sophia and Ella are members of Rocky Mountain Community Church (PCA) where Fred serves as a deacon.
