    Peacemaker Conference LiveBlog to Begin Thursday Night at 8PM (Mtn) – Ken Sande

    I heard some discouraging news this week … apparently the cost for internet access during the Peacemaker Conference is $150/day (!), so I thought I would not be able to LiveBlog the general sessions. But then Fred suggested that a portable keyboard for my iPhone might enable me to broadcast during the sessions … so I’m going to give it a try.     Are we really supposed to fear the Lord?

    I greatly enjoyed this post from Gentle Reformation and I commend it to you: Are We Really Supposed to Fear the Lord? This last paragraph provides a strong summary: “The word yare’ in its various forms appears 435 times throughout the Old Testament. Of those uses, almost eighty percent refer to the fear of the Lord.     Sophia and I had an interesting conversation tonight that meandered from famous people I have met (Maestro Barenboim, Hal Holbrook, and Vice-President Dan Quayle being on my list) to the United Stated Presidential Line of Succession (after her “what is a Vice-President?” question) … to the assassination of John F. Kennedy (and Lyndon Johnson being sworn in as President aboard Air Force One) … to other “where were you when …” defining moments in U.S. History (Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination, President Reagan being shot, the Challenger exploding, 9/11).
